Here is a summary breakdown of power generation by type. http://www.eia.doe.gov/cneaf/electricity/epa/epa_sum.html In short electricity produced by fossil fuels (coal, gas, oil, etc) is currently 71% of our total power generation. Nuclear power accounts for 19.4%.
