I need to be dashing out of the house. BUT, I can't leave until I thank you for the invitation to e-friendship. It is MUCH appreciated! I loved the enthusiasm you expressed over the Alice Walker piece (An Open Letter to Barack Obama) I posted to my blog. It sounds as though you and your wife have an ideal life. Sharing blog posts over breakfast sounds like heaven to me.

Brightest blessings to you, man.

Refugees Yes

I've been away for a while. I've been visiting Tribe again. Now I'm back here after wading through a barrage of ugly hate around the death of a Burning Man friend of mine, Caleb Schaber. His friend Deb was the target of all this poison. Cowboyangelwife and I met Deb at Caleb's memorial at Ocean Beach and we both have a deep regard and love for her, so it very sad for us to see the brutality with which she was attacked at Tribe.

Healing, staying centered in Love and understanding is so difficult… Continue

Chinmaya Dunster

Just heard "Karma Circles", a CD my wife just purchased from Chinmaya Dunster. This album is quite good.. The music is emotionally mature, well traveled, rich in sound textures and truly magically delightful!

Here's Chinmaya's link

When Chimaya's band comes to the US, I predict that it will be hugely appreciated, widely sought after and always packing overflowing houses.

Thank you Chinmaya. You are a rare gift to a world so profoundly in… Continue

Veterans Day

Today on Democracy Now! I heard that 18 veterans a day, yes, that's correct, 18 veterans a day, according to Government statistics, commit suicide.

And so my fellow Americans, I ask, "Who should we be bailing out? Who should we be taking carer of?"

Who? Who r… Continue

VOTE NO ON MEASURE Q (if you live in Marin or Sonoma counties)

Prayer does in fact work. Pray for life. Bald Eagles, Marbled Murrelets, Spotted Owls, Coho Salmon, California Clapper Rails, Salt Marsh Harvest Mice...all will be imperiled if the SMART train, measure Q is voted in. The Eel River will be severely impacted by train freight and gravel… Continue

Phil Arnot

Phil Arnot. Wilderness Explorer, WWII Veteran, Hero
Phil Arnot is a hero in the old sense of the word. The guy flew 22 combat missions in a B-17 over Germany during WWII as a co-pilot. He was 19 years old when he entered the Army Air Force. He got truly and deeply bummed out by all the de… Continue
