Jai has not received any gifts yet
My brother gave me a giftcard for Christmas, the one and only thing i bought with it was a book called: Don't Let Your Emotions Run Your Life. My counselor kept telling me last year that i need to change for myself, i didn't know where to start, i decided to look inward and see what it was that i needed to change. She told me i should change for myself and no one else but that's all she would tell me, i was at a complete lost as to what it was about myself that she saw that i needed to change

Have you ever been in love so deep
That you dream of that special someone
In your sleep
Loving her so much you could cry
Wanting to feel her touch so much
You could die
Sitting around waiting for the phone to ring
And when it does it makes your heart sing
Knowing it's her voice you'll hear
Sounding so soft and sincere
Wishing instead that she was there with you
Wanting her so much
You don't know what to do

I'm currently fighting a virus, i'm trying not to let it get the best of me. Monday was my usual day for therapy, the only thing is that i had to do a phone session and neither me or my counselor like those. I've been well. Since the oppressive, icky, warm, sticky weather began here around June 1st, I haven't left my air-conditioned bedroom aside from when it's been absolutely necessary. I abhor the heat and humidity of summer in New York City (and we've only had a couple of really HOT days so far - summer just started officially on Saturday).
Of course, this is a real shame because there are an abundance of cool GLBT events for people of color all during Pride Month (and again during Black Pride in early August). There are film festivals, dance performances, literary readings, a local low-cost one-night cruise, rallies, the annual Adodi summer retreat, plus parties and fundraisers of all types (and beautiful bruthaz and sistahs EVERYWHERE you look).
But, I plan to keep my black behind right here at home with the a/c CRANKED and chill to my music.
Much love to ya'.
I was happy to see that you blog became quite the hot topic of conversation in Set It Off. Greater levels of sharing and intimacy are possible in smaller groups, I believe.
Wishing you God's Peace during the holidays (blah!).
Like "Tom" I've sent you a friend invite here. :)
