Hey 3DTripper, um, I don't mean to be insensitive, but may I ask you about your nom de plume?
I'm curious if you're one of those now known as "psychonauts".
Steve Quayle is a daily visit on the web for me. He has a fairly good run down on what's going on in the world.
I went into a Walmart today, not by choice I assure you, and was ....I don't know exactly how to describe it.... shocked/amazed/saddened/depressed/irritated/angry over the people in there.
Are people really THAT clueless about what was going on? I guess baseball must be winding down (I don't follow sports at all) and people were buying flat screen TVs, mountains of useless crap, and junk food.
I guess all we can do is keep our head down, and keep shoveling and stacking.
One of the authors of another blog compared it to Aesop's "The Grasshopper And The Ant" fable. I guess there really is no better analogy.
Hey J, maybe I am just waking up myself and I smell the coffee... I am new here at Tribe Refugee and was a little surprised at the lack of comments. I thought that maybe you guys didn't have a clue...
Good to hear that someone else is aware of what is coming down and can see beyond the gov. hype....
I was in Walmart today too watching people buying halloween customes, and the most useless crap that they could spend their money on. Meanwhile I'm buying axes, non-perishable foods, plastic for the green house, etc...
Maybe I should explain, I just dropped out of the rat race 4 months ago and started working on getting self-sufficient. As of the last week I have put the effort into high gear and I hope I get there before the "Stuff" hits the fan, which could happen anyday now.
And no, I don't think the average person has a clue. They spend their time so pre-occuplied and all they see is the smoke and mirrors presented to them by the NEWS and Gov.
I have not seen anyone talking about this and thought that maybe I would throw a rock at you to see if you were alive....
As for my name ... Day Tripper was taken so I settled for 3DTripper. it is a Beatles song and when I was employeed I traveled for my Company extensively so they started calling me Day Tripper... I really didn't give it much thought, maybe I should have gone with something simple like D or T or K.....
I just discovered Steve Quale (like I said above) and look forward to any helpful links (or posts) that will enlighten us sleepy heads. I am familiar with the Ant and the Grasshopper fable, and am regrateful that all of my energy has gone into a Career and the "American Dream" which is all BS and has played into the wallets of whoever is pulling the strings in this world. My 401K is toast and so is everyone else's. I am working on surviving the next stage... I live in the country and have land that I and my family can survive on. I am not sure how much time we have but I do know that we will be able to live self-sufficiently when the lights go out.
I am looking to learn from any experience that anyone here would be willing to pass on. I will posting any thing that I feel maybe helpful and it maybe old news to some of you.... then again, it maybe helpful to someone else.
Not sure if that makes me a Grasshopper or an Ant.... I do know that it is the 11th hour or later.

Hi 3D
Many of us see what is coming. There are pages and pages on the web. Some more pessimistic than others, some more angry than others, but I think a significant number of people have awakened to the perils created by putting your complete faith and trust in people who order the shooting of mothers holding infants, or the burning of churches filled with kids.
I think my English Professor, Dr. Segity, would have hung me for that last sentence.
Don't feel bad about your 401K. My account evaporated in the DOTCOM crash, and has never recovered.
If you have arable land, lay in some heirloom seed stocks. Stay away from the hybrids. I just bought 12,000 from http://www.survivalistseeds.com. The site looks a wee bit like a fly by night operation, but it is genuine. It cost $168.00, but when I compared that to what you actually got (quantity) from some of the other places selling heirloom seeds, I made the jump.
It is run by *one of us*, another nut job survivalist. The kit isn't fully complete. I'm adding quinoa, amaranth, buckwheat, millet, and mustard seeds to my stocks. I wish I could find some rye seed. I haven't been happy with what I've found on the web.
The cotton and tobacco are for **after** if we go back to a 19th century way of life. After alcohol, which anyone can make, these will be valuable trade items.
Tribe is down right now (again) otherwise I'd point you to my profile there. I have a bunch of links that you might find interesting.
As soon as it is back up, I'll link to it.
I think you're an ant at this point. Welcome to the party.
Oh, if you're wondering why I asked if you were a psychonaut, I'm interested in hearing first hand from people who have taken a trip using psilocybin or DMT. I have a number of reports from different people who have met the "Green Goddess" while on these trips. They are remarkably similar, and that is unusual. The people who have told me of their encounters do not know each other, which adds to the curiosity I have.
I've never used drugs, so I'm not able to add my own experiences. Due to my position, I can not risk the use of drugs otherwise, I think I'd be sorely tempted.
Thanks for the info, I will check out the sites because I do need seed and have not been able to find any at the feed stores. My problem is that I have done away with my credit cards... i'll figure something out.
Would also like your link on Tribe ... when it comes up again. My "handle" on tribe is Rhonda.
As for the drugs... Not sure I even know what you are talking about... lol. I did do an assortment of drugs back in the 70's (good old days) and I do enjoy a little smoking herb occasionally.

One other place for you to check is your local Whole Foods. In their bulk foods area, the seeds they sell by the pound (wheat berries, sesame seeds, millet, quinoa, etc) are viable seeds. Other large chains (like Safeway...ewwwww) also have bulk food bins.
The same is true if you have a large health food store. Visit a farmer's market. The stuff they sell that is heirloom, buy a couple, and save the seed.
This time of year, stores sell Indian Corn and a red corn called "Bloody Butcher's Corn" as decoration. Make sure it hasn't been "treated" or shellaqued or varnished. These are heirloom varieties. The same is true of the small pumpkins and other squash.
If you aren't sure if the stuff will germinate, take a few samples and attempt to sprout them. If they sprout, you're good to go with saving the rest. If they don't....look some more.
