The only thing I can offer, is to learn how to cope with, and eventually overcome your asthma. It can be done, but it takes a lot. I have two friends who did it. For any serious survivalist, it is important to break from any dependence on prescription, if possible, or to study up and practice on your herbalism and chemistry!
I've heard the same thing: practicing managing your condition with relaxation/breathing exercises to try to keep bad attacks from getting worse, as well as some herbal remedies to help such as eucalyptus. not having asthma myself, I can't give any specific tried and true info.
that kind of thing is planning for long term Shit Hitting The Fan situations... like months or permanent bad stuff. for short term bugout planning, I'd make sure to keep an inhaler/meds in your emergency pack. and check on it periodically to make sure it isn't expired.
I forgot to say that you might want to check with some herbalists to see if there are some natural treatments, particularly something native to your area.

You know, this kind of fits with "what happens after".
If there is no power, how will you vacuum?
Currently my wife and I are ripping out all of the carpet and linoleum in the house. The first floor is a concrete slab. We are going to stain it. The second floor will be oak.
Easy to keep clean with a mop and a broom.
That should help with any respiratory problems created by dust and dirt.
